Project #5 Anti-Surveillance Tool
Description
I am sending a message to my friend who is not living on this planet. Unfortunately, the electromagnetic waves disturbed the conversation between my unknown friend and me, and it messed up the message. However, it is still readable. "Aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoatnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteers be at the rghit pclae. The rset can be a toatl mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe." If you press it with the mouse, the chaos of lines would get more disordered.
Design Process
I wrote down the message context in the correct first and changed the letters' order on purpose. Like what the research said, the wrong order of the letters do not affect the way you read them. After that, I want to add the flickering links to represent the chaos casued by the electromagnetic waves. "Loop" and "Random" have been applied here. "MousePressed" has been used to add more interaction with the audience. Once mouse is pressed, the background would turn to white to make the message more readable.
Reflection
I really enjoyed this week's topic: Anti-Surveillance Tool. It gave us more spaces to stimulate our own imagination. I would say this assignment would be my favorite project since the visual communication is more interesting.
